LatinoFest!

I celebrated the Summer Solstice by going to Baltimore's LatinoFest in the lovely Patterson Park, a few blocks from my house. It was so much fun that I thought I would share a little bit with you. If only I could include the music, the smells, and maybe a papusa or two you might almost have as much fun as I did. As a consolation, here are some pictures:

There were little outfits for los niƱos

Patriotic stuff from every nation

Soccer Jerseys

And, of course, the Virgin of Guadalupe.

Now, on to the food!

This one looks pretty good...

Puerto Rico was well represented

Corn!

Papusas!

The Tasty Kiosk!! Arepas and a bunch of stuff that I could only order by pointing at!

Meat spinning over a fire, which is about the coolest thing meat can do before being eaten.

Margaritas being made by an alligator, pretty sweet.

I just stuck with cerveza, otra Dos Equis, por favor

Domino, perhaps the best game, I mean lifestyle, ever invented.

ESPN was running a tournament behind a big truck.

They had nice tables with built in racks,
but there's no way I could beat these guys.

There was a whole lot of dancing going on

These people were doing some kind of circle dance that looked like a lot of fun. I got to dance with some pretty girls, but, unfortunately, there is no way I can have that much fun and take pictures at the same time.

The best part of the day was the main event,
Eddie Palmieri and his band La Perfecta II.
9 time Grammy Award winner.
If you need to know more Google it quick, and get up and dance!

The Man!

That says it all

YES - they rock the Latin Jazz!

I'll just leave you with that tease for now, because I had so much fun Saturday that I had to go back Sunday. There is life in the city.
