Down The Urban Trail

On a rare sunny day in February I decided to hike a bit of the Gwynns Falls Trail, a 15 mile urban green space. Sort of. Of course nothing's green this time of year, but the bit I hiked was through the middle of town, ending at the huge BRESCO incineration plant. It is located in the midst of two major highways, the main north-south railways running through town, and the mouth of the Middle Branch of the Patapsco river. For some reason the name of the river is pronounced "patapsico," I don't know where the extra vowel came from. Anyway, here are two pictures of the urban wetland.
